Playlogic Posts First Annual Profit

Playlogic, publisher of Obscure 2, said Friday that it has posted its first full-year profit, with CEO Willem Smit calling fiscal 2007 a "turning point" for the company.

Smit said that for the current fiscal year, Playlogic expects to ship 20 games on multiple platforms, with net earnings in the range of 7 to 12 cents per share.

The publisher also said that during 2008, it will make console software its primary focus, and put PC software in the backseat. But it isn’t abandoning the PC platform. "Playlogic will also continue to publish PC games because in comparison to next generation consoles, PC games are less expensive to develop and still address a very wide target audience," read a regulatory filing.
